A Japanese rock garden (枯山水 karesansui) or “dry landscape” is often referred to as a Zen Garden and intended to emulate the essence of nature by incorporating boulders, water features, trees, and bushes. Zen gardens are often used for meditation and intended to evoke feelings of tranquility and peace.
